Gigi briefly made his TV debut alongside Andrea Roncato. The comedy couple has received various awards, including three Telegatti, for the show “Premiatissima”, for the TV commentary on “Miss Mondo” and finally for “Saturday at the Circus”. They also received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2002 Martina Franca Cabaret Festival.

In 1986, Gigi and Andrea joined the cast of Grand Hotel, a television show that featured numerous comedians such as Massimo Boldi, Massimo Ciavarro, Franco Franchi, Ciccio Ingrassia and Carmen Russo. In 1987 Gigi took part in the festival conducted by Pippo Baudo and Lorella Cuccarini. From 1988 to 1990 he starred in the television series Don Tonino, where he played Inspector Sangiorgi. A few years later, in 1992, he returned to television with Andrea Roncato to direct the summer program Il TG delle vacanze, then gradually slowing down his television appearances until retiring in 1995.

After 20 years of television career, he left the scene, preferring the theatrical environment.

After his retirement, it was some time before he appeared in front of the cameras again. The choice inevitably fell on the cinematic. In 2008 he returned to the big screen with the screenplay Benvenuti in amore by Michele Coppini. In 2018 he starred in a hugely successful fiction, also on small screen, L’ispettore Coliandro by the Manetti brothers. The comedian was recently a guest on C’è tempo per…, the Rai Uno program that airs every morning from Monday to Friday.
