Paul Houde abruptly resigns from his role as host for health reasons – 7 days

Paul Houde caused quite a stir on the BPM Sports microphone last Friday. At the end of Morning Clubwhich he had hosted daily from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. since the beginning of the school year, he announced that he would not be back the following Monday.

“I’m sorry for the team that learned this at the same time as you,” he said on air. In the same breath, he thanked management for trying to accommodate him. “But there are no solutions! It was my doctor who ultimately made the decision, telling me, “This isn’t right for you.” When he walked off the microphone in the middle of the season, he left people he loved at the table: “What bothers me . The saddest thing is that.” For the moment it will mean a break in my long professional collaboration with Kathrine Huet. We’ve always worked together,” he said, referring to the show’s producer and collaborator, with whom he has worked for 15 years.

When reached by phone Tuesday, Paul Houde was happy with his decision. “I had some physical warnings that my metabolism wasn’t adapting to these times.” And that’s not counting the work he’s done to honor other contracts. “I had to come to the conclusion that I couldn’t do my best every morning. My doctor determined that I was unable to adapt to this major life change. It’s not necessarily easy to hear the alarm at 3:30! By 11 a.m. I was no longer of any use.”

BPM Sports management respected his decision. “They took it well and were extremely understanding with me. They recognized that it was the result of serious consideration on my part.” Better yet, they told the 69-year-old veteran communicator that they wanted to continue working with him. “I am seriously considering the offers they have made to me. You seem extremely interesting to me.”

Last Monday, from 6 a.m., Gilbert Delorme and Kathrine Huet were at the Morning Club microphone. And what is Paul Houde doing during this time? He thinks about himself and certainly hasn’t lost his sense of humor. “I have about three months of sleep to recover. Maybe I’ll go into hibernation!”
