The Brazilian Workers’ Party (PCO), in support of the terrorist group Hamas, praised this weekend’s attack on Israel, which has already killed 1,200 people and sparked another war in the Middle East.

In a post on social media this Sunday (8), the PCO says it is “a historic day not only for the Palestinian people, but for all who want to see a world free from oppression, tyranny and terrorism.”

“Hamas has ignited the flame of resistance against the terrorist and fictitious state of Israel. All support for Hamas! End of Israel,” the party proclaimed.

The PCO also stated that Hamas is making a “heroic resistance” to the “tyranny” and “martyrdom” of the Israelis against the Palestinian people.

In an unprecedented escalation, the Hamas group launched an attack on Israel last Saturday (7), firing around two thousand rockets from the Gaza Strip. In response, Israel carried out bombings of targets in the area and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared war.

The conflict has already claimed around 1,200 Israeli and Palestinian lives and hundreds injured. An NGO reported the discovery of at least 250 bodies at a site where a rave was taking place.

World leaders, including Joe Biden and Emmanuel Macron, condemned the attacks, as did Jewish organizations. Iran and Hezbollah celebrated Hamas’ action.

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) called the attacks “terrorism,” but also expressed reservations. The Brazilian government reported that one Brazilian was injured and two missing in Israel and announced an operation to repatriate Brazilians to areas affected by the attacks.

The Israeli embassy in Brazil classified Hamas as a “branch” of the Iranian regime.
