The Pittsburgh Penguins have decided to clean up the table after missing the 2022-2023 playoffs, but have no intention of changing their structure in terms of hockey operations.
As journalist Frank Seravalli said Wednesday, the Pens would be looking for a new president and general manager. These positions were previously held by Brian Burke and Ron Hextall, respectively.

The ice hockey expert then rejected several names that would have had contact with the Pennsylvania organization for one of the two vacancies. He mentioned former Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin, Seattle Kraken assistant GM Jason Botterill, former Arizona Coyotes GM John Chayka, New York Rangers assistant GM Ryan Martin, and Tampa assistant GM Bay Lightning, Mathieu Darche.
That season, the Penguins maintained a 40-31-11 record and finished fifth overall in the Metropolitan Division. It was the first time since Sidney Crosby’s rookie season in 2005-06 that they hadn’t danced in the spring.
