In the first three days, “Adipurush” made a significant amount of money in both the North Indian and Telugu markets.
However, due to controversy and anger from certain groups, the film suffered a slump at the box office on Monday.
Many people have claimed that the authors have corrupted the Ramayana and that it lacks any devotional emotion.
These remarks weighed heavily on the film’s continued success as it struggled to generate positive numbers over the last two days.
According to trade analysts, the film will not bring any significant benefits in the future. Whatever the film’s earnings in the coming days will not improve its overall status.
People Media Factory, a film production company, acquired the theatrical rights to ‘Adipurush’ for Nizam and Andhra Pradesh for a payment of 150 crore rupees. Thirty crore of this amount is recoverable.
In order to break even, the film needs to collect 120 crore rupees in distribution shares. At present, the company has accumulated a sales share of Rs. 73 crore.
Even if the film manages to bring in another 10-15 crore, People Media Factory will still suffer a loss of over 30 crore rupees.
The acquisition of the rights was primarily motivated by People Media Factory’s association with Prabhas and their plans to work with him on two more films.
