A sea of people swept through the streets of Caracas from Plaza Venezuela to the Cuartel de la Montaña, where the remains of the Bolivarian commander rest and on whose grave red roses were laid by the nation’s most important political, governmental and military authorities.
President Nicolás Maduro pointed out that a decade has passed since this unprecedented, shocking and awe-inspiring proclamation event, as well as the great march today, where the people of Venezuela told the commander to always be loyal.
He expressed that this speech is full of guidelines, truths and strategic lines for the time to come.
Chávez knew he could trust us and the people because we would not fail him and we would never fail him, as a people and as a revolutionary force, he assured.
Maduro explained that the commander always told us that in the worst moments we had to trust and believe in the people, feeding on their energy, their truths and their historical strength.
He estimated that the greatest warriors are the people of Venezuela who fought the struggles against the sanctions and the blockades and thanked them, because without them there is no revolution, “it must be cultivated at all times and in every space”, he said.
The head of state stressed that Commander Chávez had not plowed in the sea but in fertile land and hearts, forming a people with a superior conscience and deep values of homeland and revolution.
He said that in this past decade we have “kept the legacy of the commander alive,” pointing out that he is not just a person, but a way of working, a way of life, a way of making the revolution, of being a revolutionary and making politics.
There was unity, struggle, struggle and victory, long live the eternal legacy of our beloved Chávez, Maduro noted.
The First Vice-President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, recalled those difficult days in December 2012 and praised the calmness and enormous peace of mind with which the revolutionary leader acted.
He remembered his words of unification, struggle, battle and victory as a command to the unity of all revolutionary forces, patriots, the Great Patriotic Pole, the Bolivarian National Armed Forces, because he knew that all forces were opposed to the revolutionary project .
Seeing the people who continue to fight, resist and rise up is the best tribute we can pay Chávez in these 10 years of Loyalty and Love Day, Cabello stressed.
