Pepsi is annoyed by Minister Champagne and promises to meet him

Called out by Industry Minister François-Philippe Champagne for his absence at a summit on food prices last Monday, Pepsi assured the next day Newspaper that she really wanted to meet the minister to find solutions.

“We were unable to attend but offered to meet with the minister at a later date,” Pepsi told the Journal.

“We are committed to working with the government to find solutions in this difficult context for Canadians,” we assured.

Noticed absences

The multinational group said it was pleased that its industry association had held this “productive conversation”.

Last Monday, Nestlé and Kraft Heinz met with Minister Champagne, but Coca-Cola and Pepsi were conspicuous by their absence, which displeased the Trudeau government.

“The consequence affects all 40 million Canadians because we can see those who are doing something and those who are not. I have made them very clear, I will have no problem naming them,” he said.
