The search for Percy Jackson begins a little earlier than expected.

Disney+ has brought forward the premiere of its series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” by a few hours. The first two episodes, which were scheduled to begin streaming early Wednesday, instead aired on Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. ET/6:00 p.m. PT. The first episode will also be streamed on Hulu and will be available there until the end of January.

Subsequent episodes will also debut on Disney+ on Tuesdays instead of Wednesdays.

“We are so grateful for the amazing and dedicated Percy Jackson fans who have enthusiastically supported this project from the beginning,” said Pamela Levine, head of marketing for Disney Branded Television and National Geographic Content. “They've been counting down the days and as a special thank you, we wanted to let our fans enjoy the first two episodes a little earlier than expected.”

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on the bestselling novels by Rick Riordan, with the eight-episode season covering the events of the first book, “The Lightning Thief.” Walker Scobell plays the title character; Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri also star.

Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg created the series, with Steinberg and Dan Shotz serving as co-showrunners. All three produce alongside Rebecca Riordan; Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Jeremy Bell and DJ Goldberg of Gotham Group; Bert Salke; Directors James Bobin and Anders Engström; and Jim Rowe, Monica Owusu-Breen and Jet Wilkinson.
