A Lévis offender guilty of sexual assault and death threats has bought himself an extra year in prison by escaping the therapy he agreed to receive last summer. Vincent Daigle will finally serve four years instead of the planned three years in prison.

The Crown and the Defense had agreed to a three-year sentence in the case of Vincent Daigle, who was guilty of sexually assaulting two young male escorts, in addition to threatening his own parents with death and in a pursuit leading to led to his arrest, was driving dangerously.
However, the stipulation to that agreement was that Daigle undergo three months of closed therapy before being jailed. However, as soon as he arrived at the therapy house, he had taken the key to the fields and was not found in the Ottawa sector until six weeks later.
That escape will ultimately cost him a year’s liberty, as the Crown and defense returned on Friday before Judge Réna Émond with a new proposal, this time four years in prison.
Attacks on two escorts
Daigle, 31, had pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two young men who had offered their sexual services on an online platform.
The perpetrator received the two young men at his home in February 2022 before entering into a sexual relationship with them. However, Vincent Daigle had forced her into an anal penetration, which was initially not agreed.
“We are talking about a very intrusive attack while one of the victims was crying and the defendant continued to attack him,” Crown Prosecutor Louis-Philippe Desjardins said in his summary of the facts.
The defendant finally drove off to drive the two victims home without even paying them, as initially agreed.

Vincent Daigle was originally arrested in April 2022 after a Highway 20 chase.
His car had been reported to patrol officers after his parents filed a complaint of death threats and harassment, which their son texted them. He had specifically demanded $120,000 from his father, telling him that if he didn’t pay, he would kill him.
His Range Rover was eventually spotted by an SQ patrol on Highway 20 near Saint-Hyacinthe. Daigle then gave chase and reached speeds of between 130 and 170 km/h. Collisions with patrol cars ensued and his run was eventually halted when he lost control of his vehicle due to the wet pavement.
“Start again”
The accused, who is serving a little over three years in prison, testified in court on Friday that he regretted his actions.
“I really blame myself for everything I’ve been able to do to people,” he said via video conference call from the Quebec Detention Center, adding that he had been walking since arriving at the prison.
“Since my incarceration, I’ve tried to start over and it will be a fresh start for me, despite what I’ve done to my victims. I hope they too will be able to find tools to repair the damage I’ve done,” he said.
