Pete Davidson and Michelle Yeoh join the cast of the upcoming Transformers: Rise of the Beast

A little over a year after the conclusion of principal photography, voice work continues on the live-action/CGI hybrid “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” with two new cast members, Pete Davidson and Michelle Yeoh.

Director Steven Caple Jr. (Creed II) took to Instagram on Tuesday and revealed short videos of Davidson, 28, and Yeoh, 60, in their respective recording booths.

Caple also revealed that Davidson will be voicing Autobot character Mirage, while Yeoh will be voicing Maximal character Airazor.

“Pete Davidson in disguise,” Caple began in his Instagram caption Tuesday afternoon.

“The cast of @transformersmovie is amazing man. Catch a glimpse of Pete blessing Mirage and @michelleyeoh_official as the voice of Airazor,” the director added, along with the #ROTB hashtag and “2023” – if the film is set to be released.

Davidson’s video showed the actor letting out a grunt in his role as Caple laughed as he said, “Behind the scenes of Transformers 7.”

Yeoh’s video was captured from the other side of the recording booth, although what Yeoh said was not heard.

Transformers: Rise of the Beast is the seventh Transformers live-action film and the first to be set in the 1990s.

Set in 1994, the story follows two Brooklyn archaeologists who are drawn into a world-spanning adventure involving three other Transformers factions: the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons.

The cast also includes human characters played by Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Velez and Tobe Nwigwe.

Legendary voice actor Peter Cullen returns to voice Autobot leader Optimus Prime, with Gray Griffin as Arcee (who transforms into a Ducati motorcycle) and Sebastian Maniscalco as Wheeljack (who transforms into a 1970 VW Type 2 box bus transformed).

Rounding out the cast are Ron Perlman as Optimus Primal, leader of the Maximals who transforms into a gorilla, and Yeohs Airazor, a Maximal who transforms into a peregrine falcon.

Caple Jr. is directing from a screenplay by Joby Harold, Darnell Metayer, Josh Peters and Erich Hoeber & Jon Hoeber.

Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian and Duncan Henderson are executive producing with Hasbro’s entertainment studio, Entertainment One, while Skydance and New Republic Pictures are co-financing and executive producing.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters on June 9, 2023.
