TAMPA, Fla. – Toronto Blue Jays pitching coach Pete Walker issued an apology Saturday after he was arrested a day earlier for drink driving.

Walker was arrested in Pinellas County, Fla. early Friday morning and was released on $500 bail later in the day.
“There was a traffic accident that I was involved in Thursday night,” Walker, 52, told reporters on Saturday. “My sincere apologies to the Blue Jays organization, the Blue Jays fans and my family.
“I am currently working with my lawyer to find a solution. I also apologize to my three daughters. At the moment we are working through this with my lawyer to find a solution and that is the only comment I will have for now.
The Blue Jays said they were gathering information and would not comment further “out of respect for the court process.”
Walker was in Tampa, Fla. with the Blue Jays when they defeated the New York Yankees 10-9 in the Grapefruit League game on Saturday.
He has been with the organization as a trainer since 2009 and took over the position of pitching coach in November 2012. From 2002 to 2006 he played for the Blue Jays.
