What is investigation?

Operation Golden Disk, launched this morning, aimed at the execution of two arrest warrants and six search and seizure warrants issued by the 4th Federal Court of Roraima. The court orders were complied with in Boa Vista and Mucajaí, in Roraima, as well as in São Paulo and Santos (SP), Santarém (PA), Uberlândia (MG) and Itapema (SC).

It was also discovered that more than R130 million was kidnapped from the suspects.

The police investigation suggests that the operation is aimed at “laundering” cassiterite that was illegally removed from Yanomami indigenous lands. According to the investigation, the ore came from a regular mine on the Tapajós River in Itaituba, Pará and was allegedly transported to Roraima for processing.

However, research suggests that this dynamic would only occur on paper as the ore would come from Roraima State itself.

Financial transactions have been identified that affect the entire production chain of the system, with the presence of aircraft pilots, gas stations, mining machinery and equipment stores and oranges to cover up fraudulent transactions.

“The plan would also involve a national music entrepreneur, who would be one of those responsible for the financial core of the crimes, as well as a singer who would have received at least one million reais from a mining company under investigation,” he says. PF’s note.

The investigation is ongoing.
