PFL: Olivier Aubin-Mercier triumphs by knockout and go to the final

Quebec’s Olivier Aubin-Mercier will have the opportunity to defend his title as the Professional Fighters League (PLF) lightweight champion as he won his semi-final against Brazilian Bruno Miranda on Wednesday night in New York.

The “Canadian Gangster” passed the K.-O. his rival in the final seconds of lap two. Aubin-Mercier was rather shy in the first half but completely dominated in the second half.

The 34-year-old quickly gained the upper hand and sent Miranda down. He then made life difficult for the Brazilian for long stretches and the latter just couldn’t stand the repeated assaults of the 2022 champions.

This is the eighth straight win for Aubin-Mercier, who has mostly managed knockouts. in his last three appearances.

In the final, the Montreal native meets the winner of the fight between the Americans Shane Burgos and Clay Collard. The final event of the PFL season will be held on November 24th and all champions will receive a $1 million prize.
