Phillies’ Kyle Schwarber breaks Statcast with a mammoth NLCS Game 1 home run by Yu Darvish

It’s a low-scoring game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Diego Padres in Game 1 of the NLCS, but fans at Petco Park witnessed one of the longest and hardest-hit home runs in MLB history.

Heading into the sixth inning with a 1-0 lead, the Phillies saw Kyle Schwarber step onto the plate for his third at-bat of the night, and he saw a Yu Darvish 87-mph cutter, which he was absolutely ready for was .

Schwarber used his quick hands and immediately turned around on the field, and the ball hit the entire run as it surged into the San Diego night to right field.

As it landed, Schwarber caught the upper deck, an area baseball rarely ventures into at Petco Park, and even the Padres’ fans couldn’t help but admire what they’d just witnessed.

When the results hit the field via MLB Statcast, it read 488 feet and 119.7 miles per hour from Schwarber’s stick.

New York Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton owns three of the top five at 121.7 mph, which equals 121.3 mph and 119.8 the hardest hit in this range is km/h. His teammate Aaron Judge clocked a speed of 121.1 mph in June 2017.

But as far as Phillies records go, Schwarber’s bombshell is the cake. Not only is it the longest home run of his career, but Schwarber also has the longest home run by a Phillies player since Statcast launched in 2015, MLB Network reports. It’s also the hardest-hit Philly Ball under Statcast.

And Phillies All-Star Bryce Harper, who hit a homer earlier in the game, was us all when we saw the ball pop from Schwarber’s bat.

Schwarber and Harper’s solo homers were all it took for the Phillies to win Game 1 from the Padres 2-0 when starter Zack Wheeler served huge.
