Currently we can see Normand D’Amour touring around Quebec in the cult play Le diner de cons. We told you about it here.

In it he plays Pierre Brochant, a man who organizes a weekly dinner with his friends, where everyone has to bring an idiot. Whoever finds the most spectacular will be declared the winner. One evening, Brochant, thinking he’s unearthed the rare pearl, cheers on a world-class jerk: François Pignon (Laurent Paquin), Treasury official and avid matchstick lover. What he doesn’t know is that Pignon is a master at creating disasters. He has to spend an eventful evening in her company when he suffers from severe kidney failure and his wife threatens to leave him…

Also, did you know that the person who gives the answer to Normand D’amour in the role of Christine Brochant, the protagonist’s wife, is Normand D’Amour’s real wife, Pascale Montreuil? In the photo below you can see the couple both on stage and in real life.

In an interview just before the media premiere of the cult piece at the Salle Albert-Rousseau in Quebec, Normand D’Amour told us, “I suggested they take my girlfriend because as long as they’re on tour…” This one also offers a great performance in the Skin of this woman hurt by her husband’s actions.

In addition, before the performance, Pascale Montreuil offers a cabaret with Gabrielle Fontaine, another actress from the distributor, in songs of about ten minutes, in which the two artists make fun of idiots. Pascale Montreuil particularly laughs at her lover, who has more than 1,000 board games at home and delves into rulebooks as bedtime reading every night, a moment that never fails to make the audience laugh.

We could also see Pascal Montreuil in the STAT series, in which we also find his wife, and in Before the Crash.

Normand D’amour confirms the success of the play, which draws crowds everywhere: “I’ve never heard people in a room laughing like that in my 39-year career, soon to be 40. It doesn’t make common sense. It laughs out loud! It applauds. It does not stop. We also feel like people know the lines. There are some who have never seen it, but there are many who have seen it. We have great comments, many French people who came to see the play and tell us: “We completely forgot about the film”. The fit is perfect. Note that it is André Robitaille who signs the staging.

Normand D’Amour tells us with a smile that the scene he likes to play the most in the play is the one that features the character of Juste Leblanc, also played by René Simard. This is also our favorite scene.

– His name is Just Leblanc. – Really, he doesn’t have a first name? – I just told you, Just Leblanc. Your first name is François, is that correct? Well he’s the same, it’s just that.

Note that the tour for The Dinner Cons will continue through 2024, with stops planned throughout Quebec. You should not miss this!
