[PHOTOS] Montreal: Floods hamper travel

Heavy rains caused flooding in some parts of the city late Friday afternoon, notably forcing the closure of Highway 19 North at Henri-Bourassa Boulevard.

Significant water accumulations were also reported near the ramps of the Anjou interchange and near the Galeries d’Anjou. Motorists are also asked to exercise caution in both directions within the city limits.

Boulevard Lacordaire was also closed near Boulevard des Grandes-Prairies.

The water caused disruptions in Rue Masson and Boulevard De Lorimier.

Despite the rush hour, traffic appears to be flowing, but slowdowns are occurring in areas hit by the floods.

At the beginning of the evening, the situation eased in several areas. This applied in particular to Highway 19 North and Highway 40 at Boulevard des Galeries d’Anjou.
