If there were rumors of a breakup between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, they were finally brushed aside since the sixth edition of the Invictus Games. Reunited since September 12, 2023, the couple looked more united than ever in the stands of the sports competition launched by Harry in 2014. As lovers and partners in crime, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex passionately cheered on the various teams during the games. With a beer in hand, Prince William’s brother enjoyed the spectacle, accompanied by his wife, who had apologized for his late arrival a few days earlier. As a reminder, the tournament began on September 9th with Harry, while Meghan arrived three days later.
“I’m really sorry I was a little late to the party. […] I had to spend a little more time getting our little ones settled at home. I went to get milkshakes, took the kids to school and landed a few hours ago. “I’m so excited that the first event I’m able to do with Invictus will be here with all of you,” she announced to the audience, according to Hello magazine. She added: “Have fun, we’ll be cheering you on and we can do that.” We can’t wait to take our kids too so they can experience how amazing it is. Thank you all.”
A symbolic competition for the couple
The event has great symbolism for Harry and Meghan: at the 2017 Invictus Games in Toronto, the couple actually appeared together for the first time, formalizing their romantic relationship in front of the whole world.
This year the competition was held in Düsseldorf. “With the 6th Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, our goal is to give wounded or sick soldiers in body and soul more attention and recognition in society and to support them on their path to rehabilitation. The city is working together under the motto “A HOME FOR RESPECT” “Around 500 participants from 21 nations as well as a thousand family members and friends will compete against each other in ten disciplines with the Bundeswehr,” says the official website of the tournament, which takes place from September 9th to 20th September 16, 2023.
