The Quebec dance community has probably never seen such an audience flare-up. Do you doubt it? A quick tour of the Revolution show will prove it beyond a doubt.
On Thursday night, each of the 19 dancers were greeted like great rock stars, all applauded and celebrated with an enthusiasm and fervor normally reserved for encores. The St-Denis Theater has never struck us as loud and feverish as it embarks on this new tour, which is expected through the province through the summer.
Over the next few months, Quebecers will have the opportunity to reconnect with, among others, Team White, Clique, Mikaël Larivière St-Hilaire, Ann-Florence and Ophélie Bégin, Yoherlandy Tejeiro Garcia, Marie-Josée Corriveau and Jason Morel, Sunny Boisvert and Sam Cyr.
completely new
Building on the success of the previous tour, the show, which brings together star dancers from across the seasons of the television phenomenon, has been remastered for this new tour. Because this time the program of the evening revolves around new numbers. Complete reruns and revivals of highlights from the Sunday show, except via certain short video interludes projected onstage between numbers.
And it’s probably better that way. Because the atmosphere on stage differs significantly from that on television. Detached from the competitive context – and the incredible pressure that comes with it – these dancers are certainly just as pumped up, but visibly more relaxed.
fraternity
The spirit of brotherhood that reigns on the boards is also a joy to see over the scenes where the soloists unite, where the duets and groups mingle, where the union always makes power. Because the artists rarely leave the stage and always work for the same goal: to impress. And they undoubtedly succeed.
In fact, the Revolution tour is a distillation of energy, “Oup” and “Wow” thanks to breathtaking numbers that often defy the rules of gravity and physics. dead times? There is none. The 80-minute show – presented without a break – ticks by in a flash, leaving audiences electrified, amazed and invigorated by the impressive deluge of talent on stage.
The Révolution tour will be shown at the Théâtre St-Denis in Montreal until February 19th. It will move to the Capitole de Quebec on March 2, with stops also planned in Saguenay, Gatineau, Trois-Rivières and Sherbrooke. For all appointments: revolutionentournee.com.
