[PHOTOS] Serious accident in Bellechasse: A driver fights for his life –

A driver is in critical condition after violently leaving the road in La Durantaye in Bellechasse early Monday morning.

It was a passerby driving on West 4th who spotted the crime scene around 8 a.m. before contacting authorities. The motorist’s car was then overturned on its hood in a small stream near the road.

“After checking, the police discovered that the driver was still in the vehicle,” said Béatrice Dorsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).

He was taken back to hospital in critical condition, where fears are for his life. The police do not rule out the possibility that the victim could have been in this predicament for several hours.

A police officer specializing in collision investigations went to the scene to analyze the scene of the accident. One of two lanes on 4th West is closed to traffic to allow traffic to do its work.

No hypothesis has been put forward regarding the circumstances of the postponement. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
