The environmental discussion led by the member for Sainte-Marie-Saint-Jacques did not seem to interest Pierre Fitzgibbon on Thursday in Quebec.
The Salon Bleu cameras that filmed Question Time in the National Assembly filmed the Economy Minister searching for deals in digital grocery store circulars.
Mr Fitzgibbon, known as a dealmaker, appears to take his role very seriously, including in his personal life.
Although he’s known for his well-stocked wallet, he still stops by the grocery store shelves to find good deals.
His office noted that it is “normal for the minister to monitor fluctuations in food prices.”
“The price of the shopping basket is one of the main concerns of Quebecers,” wrote the minister’s press secretary, Mathieu St-Amant.
Manon Massé responded on the social network X and reiterated that Québec Solidaire would soon make a proposal for the price of the food basket.
“Mr. Fitzgibbon. I hope you will listen this time,” she said.
