“The Jets have spoken to the Canadians here and there about Dubois and we know that’s where he’s going to end up. [à Montréal] 95%, argued Friedmann. Is there a way to reach an agreement so that the Canadian has Dubois earlier and we get what we want in return? The two teams talked about it but couldn’t come to an agreement.
Restricted
Dubois, 24, has never hidden his interest in playing with CH. However, he will become a free agent at the end of the current season, albeit with restrictions. Dubois was selected third overall by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2016 draft and ended up in Winnipeg in January 2021 when he was traded for Patrik Laine and Jack Roslovic.
In 427 regular season games in the National Hockey League, the Quebecer scored 297 points. He has 58 points, including 25 goals, in 66 games with the Jets this season.
