The unusual attack occurred on Wednesday (local time) in the middle of a hearing in a Las Vegas courtroom – on Thursday, videos from courtroom cameras quickly spread online. It shows how the defendant initially asked for leniency at the meeting, despite a long list of past crimes, and stated that he had improved and did not deserve to be arrested again. When the judge rejected the idea and explained that, given his history of criminal convictions, it was time to “do something else,” the defendant freaked out.
Judge slightly injured
The man shouted insults and charged towards the judge's bench, taking an unusually large leap directly onto the table and knocking the judge to the ground. The justice team immediately came to help and fought violently with the attacker until he was under control. Television station ABC reported, citing court officials, that the judge was slightly injured in the attack but did not require hospital treatment. The man now faces new penalties.
