Sometimes the Nintendo Direct brings nice surprises. Fans of Olimar and the little plant creatures will be delighted to know that Pikmin is back in High Definition on Nintendo Switch! After Pikmin Bloom, Pikmin 3 and the recently announced Pikmin 4, it will soon be possible again to immerse yourself in the little adventurer’s first adventures.

Pikmin 1 and 2 are video games released for the Nintendo GameCube console in 2001 and 2004, respectively. They were developed by Nintendo EAD under the direction of Shigeru Miyamoto. Players control the series’ main character, Captain Olimar, a miniature alien who must explore an unknown planet and recover parts of his crashed spaceship with the help of the Pikmin, helpful plant creatures. Both games have been well-received by critics for their unique gameplay and enchanting historical atmosphere.
Already available but
At the end of the Nintendo Direct, we learn that Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 2 will be sold on Nintendo eShop for €29.99 each. It is also possible to restore them in the Pikmin 1+2 bundle for 49.99 euros. Without wishing to reinvigorate the debate, these are obviously dematerialized versions.
However, Nintendo has planned the coup and will offer the bundle version, that is, Pikmin1 + 2, in a physical version, but it will be necessary to wait for it September 22, 2023. This will allow players to own a physical copy of the game instead of downloading it online, or for the impatient, do both.
