A co-pilot spent the night off in Johannesburg, having a lively party. He lost his job after explosive text messages
“I was a very naughty boy”: this was the message that a co-pilot sent to his colleague, who is also a British Airways crew member, after a night of partying. He described his extravagant night to her. So, she joined a group of revelers in Johannesburg (South Africa) on her day off. At the end of the night he even took cocaine from a woman’s breasts, as Aerotelegraph writes.

The problem: the next day, the co-pilot was scheduled to fly from Johannesburg back to London on British Airways flight BA56. So he would be sitting in the cockpit of an Airbus A380. But his colleague informed British Airways.
The drug test was positive
The airline was forced to cancel the flight, which British Airways estimates cost around 100,000 pounds (just over 115,000 euros). The co-pilot then traveled back to London as a passenger. A drug test came back positive.
British Airways told Sky News: “Safety is always our top priority. The matter has been referred to the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and that person no longer works for us.” The former co-pilot, who is now unemployed, runs a hot tub retreat with his wife in Devon, southern England, and now has more time to dedicate to it.
