“I hear Arequipa and my skin tingles. It is always pleasant for me to know something about his people, about Melgar. I had some difficult times there a few years ago but I think it’s different now, the club made a lot of quality leaps. That time wasn’t the one that found a mature goalkeeper in me. Carranza assembles his technical command and waits for some job offers to arrive. With no desire to run, he said if he were ever considered coaching Melgar it would be an honor, a spectacular pride for him.

Referring to the Arequipa institution, he added: “You can see that they have grown a lot. They respected projects and processes. It’s very difficult to see that in football today. As a result, Melgar has deservedly returned to the top nationally and internationally,” he affirmed, although the red-blacks are going through a serious crisis today.
