PL Cloutier confides in his big salary on the show Le Tricheur and reacts to the reactions – narcity

The topic of wages is at the center of many conversations, as money taboos are increasingly being abandoned in order to enable a certain transparency in society and in the workplace. The realm of the stars is no exception, especially as the audience’s curiosity about this seemingly unattainable world never dries up. In a series of videos shared across the internet, content creator PL Cloutier discusses the fees he has received for various contracts and reveals how much he makes while participating in the show Le Tricheur in 2016 has.

In a TikTok uploaded in late April, the Youtuber explained that he was paid during his only one-day invite to the setwhich is equivalent to a month’s salary for many Quebecers.

How much are the stars paid to play at Le Tricheur on TVA? I’ll show you my stamp!!

In the video he makes it clear that he speaks from his own experience without being able to testify for others:

“The only time I’ve been on this show was in 2016. The way it works is we get paid per episode and on the same day it’s really fun because we do five. The day starts at 8am and we are told we will be discharged around 6pm and in my case that is what happened. »

He later revealed he was pocketing $2,722, or $272 an hour, adding that it was the best-paid day of his life. He also mentioned that it is the Union des Artistes (UDA) that would negotiate these types of fees.

He then addressed the issue of transparency in the face of money during a live broadcast, an excerpt of which he shared on YouTube while his video garnered reactions. It therefore shows that a Facebook account in the name of actress and presenter Danielle Ouimet, but not verified, regrets the fact that he spoke about his salary and said it was unacceptable behavior. Everything takes place under a publication of the content of PL downloaded and shared on the Facebook page of a certain Normand Daoust.

“That is, this young man who ‘sells’ the wick by giving away his salary! He has exceeded the unacceptable. […] You should know that salaries are not equal depending on seniority, popularity, artist’s agent, artists’ union. Posting yours to someone who has done less for the same job hurts them for the next few negotiations. »

PL reiterated that to his knowledge the UDA was responsible for the negotiations and the salary would have been the same for everyone in 2016, but also had a reflection on the different approaches to money between generations:

“It fascinates me that there really is a gap, Danielle Ouimet, we have about 40 years of age difference, we make our careers at times that are completely different. I think it illustrates very well the taboo around money. We’re not in the same artistic milieu as we were then…”

If he agrees with other points of Danielle, such as the fact that only Quebec stars’ gratin are regularly afforded such opportunities and that less popular actors compensate for the empty moments with advantageous contracts like that one, PL claims that what he thinks is disclosure an income negotiated by the UDA a few years ago is no problem. Information and a grading grid would be available in the middle, so it would not be taboo for him to talk about the accumulated income, as long as a contract does not keep him silent.
