The Israeli air force claims to have once again bombed hundreds of targets in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip is the area between Israel and Egypt. Hideouts in tunnels belonging to the terrorist group “Hamas” were also hit in the attack. According to Hamas, at least 140 people died as a result of the new attacks.
On Tuesday there were protests by employees of the Vienna children’s garden and afternoon care workers. They demand more salaries, more staff and smaller groups of children’s gardens. Therefore, many private kindergartens and after-school care centers, as well as municipal kindergartens, are today closed or in emergency operation. Around 100,000 children and their families are affected by it today. Childcare will be available again from late afternoon. There is a shortage of 1,200 employees in all kindergartens in Vienna.
From Tuesday, collective contract negotiations will take place for around 430,000 Austrian retail employees. The collective agreement regulates, among other things, working hours or salary amounts. Union representatives demand eleven percent more salaries from company bosses. They point to the difficult economic situation in retail.
