A significant number of prisoners, 19, were given free passes to escape from Ciudad Juárez prison in northern Mexico after an attack by the bandits was successful. According to the state government, the crime happened on the morning of last Sunday (1st). Around 25 people were injured in addition to the escape of the leader of a group allied with the Juárez Cartel in the war against the Sinaloa Cartel.

Previously, the collective was led by Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, who was sentenced to life imprisonment in the United States. Defense Minister Luis Cresencio Sandoval reported in a press conference held this Monday that ten guards died (2). In addition, seven prisoners and two attackers are among the victims.

In the wounded branch, one of them is a prisoner and the other 14 were serving time on the ground. In the early hours of the first day of the year, a group in armored vehicles arrived and fired on the agents. Due to the turn of the year, several relatives of the prisoners gathered at the site.

Five people who took part in the actions have been arrested so far, while the others are being sought by the authorities. In summary, the attack was attributed to a group of drug dealers and Ernesto Alfredo Piñón’s escape was taken into account, according to Security Minister Rosa Icela Rodríguez.

The man by the name of El Neto corresponds to a leader of a cartel allied with Ciudad Juárez and an enemy of “El Chapo” Guzmán. Piñón has been imprisoned since 2009 and is serving a 200year sentence for kidnapping and murder.
