Marvel and DC may have dabbled in “universe expansion” in recent years, but anyone who doesn't see a similar venture on Brazilian soil is innocent, as the country has a strong franchise: Turma da Mônica. After a successful liveaction series, multiple animations, two acclaimed films and a new theatrical release, the beloved characters must return to the small screen in a new format.

On the morning of this Monday (18), a month before the premiere of Turma da Mônica Jovem: Reflexos do Medo, the Mauricio de Sousa Productions and that Globoplay announced the new production of the platform: Turma da Mônica Origen. As a prelude to the beloved group, the story is told for the first time through the upcoming attraction.
In the plot, Mônica, Cebolinha, Magali, Cascão and Milena, before becoming friends, vacation with their families at the Limoeiro Palace Hotel. An unexpected rain causes the hotel to invent a contest, to the delight of Denise (Mel Dutra, age 8), Limoeiro's favorite gossip.
Now only one of the children can win. In a week of fun, intrigue, gossip, investigation, sabotage, fear of water, watermelons and failsafe plans, will they defeat the competition, choose the lady of the street and form the most popular group in Brazil?
