Poland supplies jets: “Ukrainians know the MiG 29 and can use it right away"

Therefore, Poland is starting to help Western fighter jets to Kiev: four MiG-29s will be transferred soon – two dozen more will follow. The number is small, but Poland is sending a signal. Until now, the Ukraine Aid Club has been reluctant to provide this kind of support.

On the occasion of yesterday’s inaugural visit of the new Czech President Petr Pavel to Poland, the leadership announced great things about new plans to deliver weapons from Warsaw to Kiev. “In the coming days”, Poland will transfer four Mikoyan MiG-29 fighter jets (NATO code: “Fulcrum”) to Ukraine free of charge, announced President Andrzej Duda.

In the long and fruitless debate in the West over such deliveries, Poland always spoke of a “small number”; it can be calculated that there would be less than ten. Four planes are too few for now, but still a symbolic act.
