Poland is supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia by supplying more than 200 T-72 tanks.
Polish radio news agency IAR reported on Friday, citing government agencies. Most of the tanks have already crossed the border and are on Ukrainian territory.
Poland supplies tanks to Ukraine
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki had already confirmed large tank deliveries to Ukraine several days ago, but initially did not give an exact number. President Andrzej Duda said earlier this week that Poland had already given Ukraine the equivalent of 1.5 billion euros in military aid since the start of the war.
In a conversation with journalists from various Polish media outlets in Kiev, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked “Poland and the Polish people for their unprecedented support for Ukraine and Ukrainians”, as translated by Polish TV channel TVN24.
Zelenskyy thanks Poland for humanitarian aid and weapons delivery
Zelenskyy was not only referring to arms aid, but also to welcoming more than three million people who had already fled from Ukraine to Poland. The Poles would do anything to make Ukrainian refugees feel at home. And Poland knows full well that both countries must stay together if one is attacked.
