Police chase on Route 50 – Le Droit

According to the Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG), four people, including two Ottawans, a Montrealer and a Gatineau resident, were involved in a police chase late Friday evening.

According to SPVG spokesman Lt. According to Jonathan Guindon, they were aboard a Ford F-150 truck.

Authorities said they received a call about attempted break-ins at three Gatineau businesses, namely Canadian Tire on Maloney Boulevard, Constructions MCL and Equipement Gatineau.

The dealers filed a complaint with the SPVG.

The driver is said to have driven his truck into Canadian Tire to break in.

When responding officers located the vehicle in question, a chase ensued. The SPVG spokesman states that it was 11:14 p.m. at the time.

While driving at a speed of “approximately” 140 kilometers per hour on Highway 50, the suspect vehicle subsequently became stuck. The driver then allegedly tried to escape on foot.

The interception took place without injuries or incidents, emphasizes Lieutenant Guindon.

On Saturday morning, the SPVG announced that two people, including the driver, would be arrested for their appearance and that the other two, including the minor, would be released on conditions.

The driver is charged with dangerous driving, fleeing police, violating conditions, possession of drugs and obstructing police work, as well as three counts of entering these shops.

The occupants of the vehicle could face further charges, but this depends on the outcome of the ongoing investigation, says the police spokesman.
