Police operation: A secondary school in Saint-Raymond was evacuated

A “threatening situation” led to a large-scale police operation at a secondary school in Saint-Raymond in Portneuf, where staff and students were completely evacuated.

The event began around noon at Louis-Jobin High School after authorities received a call suggesting an “emergency situation” was targeting the facility.

According to our information, it was a possible bomb threat or the presence of a suspicious package, although the police have not yet confirmed these statements.

“The building was evacuated for security reasons and checks were carried out. But everything is negative, nothing was found,” explains Geneviève Bruneau, spokeswoman for the Sûreté du Québec.

An investigation is currently underway into who made the call and the motives behind it. Ms. Bruneau points out that charges could be filed in this story.

The school management of Louis Jobin Secondary School has decided to send all students home for the afternoon. No one was injured in this event.
