Police operation: Major operation in Beauport –

There was a large police operation in the Beauport sector in Quebec on Monday evening.

A total of five to six people were arrested by the Tactical Intervention Group (GTI) for reasons that are currently unknown.

At least one of them appeared to speak English when he heard the intervention.

The latter remained barricaded in a house for much of the intervention before leaving one by one.

Concerned residents

Less than a month ago, gunshots in this residential area caused concern and forced the intervention of the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

Fortunately, according to authorities, no one was injured.

Less than a week ago, three people were arrested in a field, also in the Beauport sector, for allegedly threatening a minor.

The SPVQ then received a call about an alleged threat against a teenager who was also a kidnapping victim.

Many Beauport residents met by Le Journal on Monday evening admitted to being very concerned about the ongoing interventions in the area in recent weeks.

“We have children and there is a school not far away. If something happens and we have to worry, it would be fun to find out,” said one father.
