The New Mexico State Police in the US released images showing cops shooting dead a man during an operation that was responding to an 911 call but at the wrong address. The operation was on April 5th. The pictures were published last Friday (14).

Three police officers followed the call. The Farmington Police Department released the footage and audio captured by the officers’ body cameras. Officers responded to a domestic violence call at 5308 Valley View Avenue, but footage shows they arrived at a home identified as 5305.

The footage shows the agents knocking on the door several times and identifying themselves as such. Then they confirm the address of the call and discuss whether they were in the right house. After a few minutes, a man opens the door and points a gun at the officers, who immediately draw and fire their guns.

The victim was identified as Robert Dotson, who died immediately at the scene. An investigation has been launched to find out why the agents went to the wrong address. The identities of the officers were not disclosed.
