Argentina.- More than 16,000 voting establishments opened their doors this Sunday as part of the general elections in the 24 districts of the Argentine territory.

Around 104,520 ballot boxes have been distributed across the country and 35,405,13 people are invited to take part in the elections.

The citizens will determine who will hold the offices of president and vice president of this nation for the next four years, while the residents of this capital will also elect the head of government of the autonomous city and the province of Catamarca, Entre Ríos and Buenos Aires to their respective Governors.

Argentines will also decide who fills 130 seats in the Chamber of Deputies and 24 in the Senate, which are partially renewed every two years.

Likewise, they will select 19 Southern Common Market parliamentarians, provincial legislators, mayors and municipal councilors.

The candidates for the presidency are Sergio Massa (Unión por la Patria), Javier Milei (La Libertad Avanza), Patricia Bullrich (Together for Change), Juan Schiaretti (We do for Our Country) and Myriam Bregman (Left and Workers Front). Unit).

According to the Ministry of Communications and Press, President Alberto Fernández will vote at 9:00 a.m. at the Argentine Catholic University in that city.

To win in the first round and occupy the Casa Rosada, a candidate must receive more than 45 percent of the vote, or 40 with a difference of at least 10 points from the second-most voter.
