Pope Francis and Archbishop of Lusaka Alick Banda on the occasion of the blessing of the bell “The Voice of the Unborn”
Before the general audience, the Pope blessed the bell “The Voice of the Unborn” donated by the Yes to Life Foundation in Zambia. This is reported by the Vatican News.
This bell will be taken to the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Lusaka and from there will leave for many other cities in the African country. Archbishop of Lusaka Alick Banda and Vice President of the Bogdan Romaniuk Foundation attended the blessing of the bell held at the Vatican in the “Fungo” at the back entrance of Paul VI Hall.
The bells of the “voice of the unborn” are already ringing in Poland, Ukraine and Ecuador. Other countries are also interested in the initiative.
In greeting the Poles during the general audience, the Pope referred to this initiative: “This Saturday we celebrate the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. In your country it is also the day of the sanctity of life,” said Pope Francis.
“As a sign of the need to protect human life from conception to natural death, the Yes to Life Foundation is dedicating the Voice of the Unborn bell to Zambia, which I blessed this morning. Their sound carries the message that every life is sacred and all life is untouchable. I bless you from my heart.”
