Francisco said that the principle eliminates the differences between the sexes; he takes part in the conference “ManWoman: Image of God”.
Pope Francis said at a conference this Friday (March 1, 2024) that “gender ideology” would pose a threat to humanity that “abolishes the differences” between men and women. He reported that he had commissioned studies on what he deemed a “bad ideology.”
“The greatest danger today is the 'gender ideology' that destroys differences. I asked to conduct studies on this bad ideology of our time that erases differences and makes everything the same. The abolition of difference means the abolition of humanity,” explained Francisco.
According to the Vatican news portal, scientists, philosophers, theologians and educators gathered at the international meeting “ManWoman, Image of God” to reflect on Christian anthropology, pluralism, dialogue between cultures and the future of Christianity.
The pope warned against gender studies before having his speech read by his aide Filippo Campanelli. The Pope spoke of love, happiness, vocation and of not suffocating the “healthy inner tension” that every person “carries” within themselves.
