A federal court has ordered former porn star Stormy Daniels to pay $300,000 in legal fees to Donald Trump after he dismissed her appeal against another court’s decision in her defamation case against the former president.
In a statement released on Monday, Trump noted the news and said “all I have to do is wait for all the money she owes me.”
“The lawsuit was a purely political stunt that should never have been started or allowed, and I’m glad my attorneys were able to see it through to a successful conclusion after the court dismissed her appeal in its entirety,” Trump said, according to CNBC. .
The decision of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit follows an earlier lower court decision that dismissed Daniels’ defamation lawsuit against Trump after he denied her allegations that they had sex in 2006.
The lengthy legal battle sparked a chain reaction of appeals, with both sides’ lawyers convicted of felonies.

Daniels alleged that Trump cheated on Melania with her in 2006 and then paid her to try to secure his victory in the 2016 election.
Last month, famed American lawyer Michael Avenatti was found guilty of stealing $300,000 from Daniels, who was to receive the money to write a book about her alleged date with Trump.
Avenatti became famous for advising Daniels in 2018 after she alleged that then-President Trump cheated on Melania with Daniels and then paid her to try to secure his victory in the 2016 election.
The disgraced lawyer was found guilty of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft after a trial in Manhattan federal court in New York in early February.
Cohen, Trump’s personal lawyer for ten years, was also sentenced to three years in prison in 2018 for, among other things, paying Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her alleged association with Trump.
The silence fee, made shortly before the 2016 presidential election, violated campaign finance laws.
