Power outage: Stuck in Ferris wheel at Mega Park of Galeries de la Capitale – Le Journal de Montréal

Because of a power failure, people were stuck in the Ferris wheel of the Mega Park of the Galeries de la Capitale for almost an hour on Thursday afternoon.

“There is nothing that works, all the shops and restaurants are closed,” said Noémie Bonneau Bowen, who was shopping when all the lights in the mall went out at 2:15 p.m.

Among other things, people got stuck in the Ferris wheel. Fortunately, the rides were able to resume operations shortly after 3 p.m. Shops and restaurants were also able to reopen.

According to Hydro-Québec, 843 customers in the Capitale-Nationale region lost power to 18 outages as of Thursday afternoon.

In Chaudière-Appalaches, more than 17,000 customers are without power due to 26 outages.

In Quebec, nearly 491,000 people are without power due to the initiation of protective measures related to wildfires. This caused disruptions on three of James Bay’s transmission lines.
