The Powerball jackpot is now the 18th largest US jackpot of all time.

The Powerball jackpot is estimated to be $638 million in the Christmas Day drawing.

No one won everything in Saturday night's drawing, so the jackpot keeps rising. It is now the 18th largest US jackpot of all time (see list below).

According to the Powerball website, the cash option for Monday's drawing is estimated to be $321.1 million.

The jackpot was last won on October 11, when a lottery player in California won the $1.765 billion jackpot.

Three million dollar tickets

In Saturday's drawing, three tickets hit all five white balls and took home millions in prizes. A ticket sold in Nebraska won $2 million on the Power Play, and tickets sold in Arizona and Missouri each won $1 million.

Capital or pension?

Major lotteries in the United States offer two jackpot payout options: annuity and cash.

The annuity option is paid out over time. There is an immediate payment and then 29 annual payments, increasing by 5% each year.

The cash option is significantly lower than the advertised jackpot, but is paid out in a flat rate. You don't have to wait decades for all the money.

Can I win the jackpot and remain anonymous?

In some states, such as New Jersey, you can win the lottery anonymously. It wasn't always that way, but now winners can remain anonymous under a law signed by Gov. Phil Murphy.

In other states, a winner's name and hometown are publicly known. Contact your state lottery for more information.
