The precandidate who is against the war Ukrainehas already stated that he is not optimistic about the success of the measure because it is not well known Russia. The 40yearold former journalist has a support base of thousands of people, which is very small in a country of over 140 million people. However, Duntsova claims she was unfairly excluded from the race.
The lack of candidates in the Russian presidential election
“I feel like the field [de candidatos] will be emptied… It is not beneficial for you [as autoridades]Above all, there is no one left on the candidate list [só] “There are people over 70 years old,” he explained.
Duntsova points out that the authorities have deprived young people of the opportunity to express themselves in a tightly controlled political system by barring them from taking part in the Russian presidential election. She argued that such an approach could fuel apathy and lead some voters to boycott the election scheduled for March.
“Where are the youth representatives? “Where are the representatives of the people who want to talk about peace, about democratic values, about reforms, about trust in the institution of power?” he added.
In response to the former journalist's allegations Dmitry Peskov, a Kremlin spokesman, issued a statement Tuesday without directly naming Duntsova. He said people with political ambitions can run for president as long as they meet the legal criteria set out in the constitution.
Current President Vladimir Putin, who held the office of president or prime minister for more than 20 years, is widely expected to emerge victorious in March's elections. The government also points out that it has 80% approval among the Russian population.
Navalny disappeared, KaraMurza in prison, Yekaterina Duntsova blocked as presidential candidate… Putin's democracy in full swing! And I still couldn't find any comment from the Secretary General of the PCP on this issue…
