Pregnant journalist for TV Canção Nova dies at the age of 38

Journalist Elaine Santos, 23 weeks pregnant, died this Tuesday (November 21) at the age of 38 from pneumonia and a generalized infection. The baby she was expecting also died. The death was reported by TV Canção Nova, a Catholic broadcaster where she worked for more than 15 years.

Elaine was admitted to a hospital in Lorena, inland São Paulo, on Monday morning (November 20), but could not resist her deteriorating health.

The journalist died of respiratory failure as a result of pneumonia and generalized infection. She was married and leaves behind her husband and a son aged 1 year and 8 months.
