Pregnant Laura Anderson admits IVF ‘wasn’t for her’

Pregnant Laura Anderson has admitted the IVF treatment she had with ex-love Dane Bowers “wasn’t for her”.

Laura, 33, dated Dane, 43, for five years before they split last year and she later began a relationship with Gary Lucy.

The star, who met Gary on Celebs Go Dating, announced she was pregnant with his child earlier this month and it was later revealed the couple had split.

She had previously undergone IVF treatment with Dane, but in response to an Instagram question from a fan asking how she got pregnant naturally, said: “The IVF situation before was not for me, I have that just didn’t say it back then.”

On Vicky Pattison’s The Secret To podcast, Laura openly revealed she didn’t want to undergo IVF before they later began the process together as she struggled to conceive.

The star had been on the pill for years and Vicky explained they tracked her ovulation after she went off the pill.

She was heartbroken after their breakup, telling Celebs Go Dating in November: “I think my last breakup was the biggest of my life because it was so serious.

“I thought he was the one. We were trying to have a baby.’

It comes after Laura dismissed any suggestion to reconcile with Gary in an Instagram Q&A.

When a curious fan asked her, “Is there any chance you and Gary will get back together?”.

Laura simply replied, “No,” before saying she “hopes once the baby is here” that she and the Hollyoaks actor can successfully become parents together.

This week, the pair appeared to take aim at each other in cryptic Instagram posts after Gary said part of the reason the couple split was due to location.

Laura reportedly wanted him to move to Scotland but said he wanted to stay in Essex to be with his four children.

But this week, Laura shared her side of the story, telling her 1.5million followers: “I had no intention of commenting on the breakdown in my relationship with Gary.

“However, based on what has now been publicly shared by other parties, I was left with no other choice.

“Gary and I are no longer together for a number of reasons that will remain private. Our plan was for me to move to Essex to start our family, which I was very happy to do.

“But since our relationship broke down, I’ve stayed at home in Scotland. My priority is to raise my baby in a calm and stable environment.

The Scottish reality star added: “I never asked or expected Gary to move to Scotland. I fully support him living in Essex to be close to his four amazing children.

“I am totally focused on having a healthy, happy pregnancy and I look forward to sharing this incredible journey with all of you. Thank you for your support! Laura, buddy & bump.’

Gary shared a cryptic message a day after his pregnant ex-girlfriend Laura barely veiledly attacked him following their shock breakup.

Laura took a swipe at her ex by saying she voted “peace over men” and edited her pregnancy announcement to remove any mention of Gary’s last name.

And on Monday, Gary appeared to have his revenge when he took to his Instagram Stories to share a very cryptic post in which he lashed out at people who “look for faults in others.”

He shared a quote that read, “People who spend time looking for faults in others should spend time correcting their own.”

He captioned the post, adding: “Amen to that.”

His cryptic message appeared to be a response to Laura’s thinly veiled swipe, which she shared on her Instagram just hours earlier.

The former Love Island star posted a quote on her Instagram Stories which read: “I’ve preferred peace to people lately. No regrets so far.’

She also edited her pregnancy announcement post to remove any mention of Gary’s name, while also disabling comments, suggesting that her unborn baby will now take her last name.

Her video reveal was originally titled, “Our hearts are full baby Lucy because of ‘Summer 23,’ but was changed to: ‘My heart is full. Baby Anderson is expected to appear in the summer of ’23’.
