A pregnant woman has expressed her “disgust” at her husband's “weirdly” close relationship with her mother – which has led to the pair becoming so intimate that they hold hands, spend time together and even dress in matching outfits .
In the new series of TLC's Smothered, DeLeesa takes aim at the close bond between her mother India and her significant other Trevor – which she even describes as “disgusting” – as she is left alone for hours while they play bingo and hoverboard.
New York native India, 59, has been living in Atlanta, Georgia, with her daughter and son-in-law for two years, but her affection for her daughter's 37-year-old husband is exacerbating her problems.
In a preview clip shared exclusively with , DeLeesa complains: “My husband and my mother are best friends and have the weirdest, most disgusting relationship I've ever seen.”

“I can't stand it, especially because me and my mother don't get along. 'It should be me and him, not my mother and him.'
Despite DeLeesa and her mother's rocky relationship, Trevor invited India to come and live with them two years ago in a desperate attempt to bring them closer together.
However, his efforts to mediate the couple failed due to the increasingly close bond with his mother-in-law.
“It was actually my idea for my mother-in-law to come and live here,” he says.
“I had hoped that their visit here would help them to come closer to each other, to address many of their problems and to overcome them together. But unfortunately that is not the case at all.'
He continues: “I don't want my relationship with my wife to suffer.” I love my wife. I never want to lose her.
“But I feel like she's not hearing me in this situation. 'And I don't know how to approach it, I don't know the best way to fix it.'

When a frustrated DeLeesa calls her husband to find out where they are, her childlike mother India blows raspberries into her daughter before grabbing Trevor's phone and hanging up.
The situation leads to DeLeesa and Trevor clashing, with the distraught bride asking, “Who plays bingo for seven hours?”
“It hasn’t been seven hours yet, you’re being dramatic,” Trevor replies. “We’ve literally been here for an hour.”
When he wants to tell his wife that he will be gone for another hour, India waves a bar of chocolate in front of his face, which he then eats.
In the confessional, with mother-in-law India at his side, Trevor says, “At this point in my relationship with DeLeesa, she feels threatened.”

India interrupts her son-in-law and adds, “No, I don't think so.” I think it's just jealousy because everything always has to be hers. If she isn't, then that's it.'
Trevor and India's unusual relationship is definitely a cause for concern, and according to TLC, viewers will see their closeness clearly expressed.
“They wear matching outfits, eat out of each other's mouths, clean each other's ears, and India even plans to have dentures made from a mold of Trevor's mouth so they have the same smile!” read a synopsis.
“Their intimacy is particularly disturbing to Trevor’s wife and India’s daughter DeLeesa.”
“Now that DeLeesa is pregnant and needs her husband’s support more than ever, she gives Trevor an ultimatum.
