A pregnant woman has been shot dead by her two-year-old son in the United States. The 31-year-old man called 911 after the incident on Friday, Police Chief David Smith told local media in Ohio. “She explained that she was 33 weeks pregnant and that her two-year-old son accidentally shot her in the back.”
The woman was then taken to a hospital, where the fetus could not be saved despite an emergency caesarean section. Hours later, her mother also succumbed to her injuries.
The woman was conscious when police arrived and told officers that her son somehow got into the normally locked room and started playing with the gun. Police found a loaded 9mm pistol and two other loaded firearms on the bedside table.

In the United States, where there are about 400 million guns for about 330 million people, these tragedies happen again and again.
