Premier League: Leeds survive as Burnley relegated as Spurs seal top four spot – live reaction! | First League

The first reaction to Burnley’s death came from Rick Harris. “Will anyone but Burnley fans be sad to see them go down and Leeds stay up?” he asks. “OK – so Bielsa is gone but Leeds have produced a lot of great football moments over the last two seasons and it would be a shame for Liverpool and United fans if one of their favorite opponents were relegated.” That’s one point of view.

FULL-TIME: Leicester 4-1 Southampton

Ayoze Perez scored his second goal six minutes into stoppage time to give Leicester a resounding victory. They finish eighth and are ahead of Wolves, who are tenth, with Brighton in between.

FULL-TIME: Brentford 1-2 Leeds

… while Leeds remain on top. A draw would have been enough, but in the fourth minute of added time they scored a winning goal. What a moment for Jack Harrison and Jesse Marsch.

FULL-TIME: Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

Burnley, who have escaped so many times, perish.

FULL TIME: Liverpool 3-1 Wolves

So Liverpool win and end up with 92 points – but City have 93 and that counts. The pair has an 18-point lead over everyone else. This season it’s not the Big Six, it’s the Massive Two.

FULL-TIME: Crystal Palace 1-0 ManUnited

United’s dismal season ends on a fitting note – except they somehow finish sixth and move into the Europa League.

FULL TIME: Town 3-2 Villa

Just to confirm that score. No quadruple for Liverpool but they will go down as one of the greatest runners-up of all time.

MAN CITY ARE CHAMPIONS!!

It’s all over at the Etihad. City trailed 2-0 and somehow scored three goals in six minutes. What a way to win her fourth title in five years.

FULL-TIME: Arsenal 5-1 Everton

Martin Odegaard gets a fifth but Arsenal stays in fifth place thanks to Spurs and their five.

FULL-TIME: Brighton 3-1 West Ham

Where did these goals come from? Pascal Gross and Danny Welbeck, that’s where. So Welbeck tackles his first club and West Ham still ends up in the Europa Conference League.

FULL TIME: Chelsea 2-1 Watford

Reckless stuff from Ross Barkley and that’s a rare home win for Chelsea. But Watford at least avoids finishing last thanks to Spurs.

FULL-TIME: Norwich 0-5 Spurs

Spurs return to the Champions League in style.

GATE! Liverpool 3-1 Wolves (Robertson 89)

Another one! A nice one-two with Firmino and a decent finish for Andy Robertson. “Come on, Stevie,” says Jamie Carragher.

GATE! Chelsea 2-1 Watford (Barkley 90)

…which is cruelly snatched away by Ross Barkley. He meets Donny van de Beek for Forgotten Man of the Day.

GATE! Chelsea 1-1 Watford (Gosling 87)

One consolation for Roy Hodgson…

For the third time today, Liverpool fans are celebrating something said to be happening elsewhere – but they may be misinformed. City continues to win and is still one point ahead. Liverpool need one more favor from Villa.

GATE!! Liverpool 2-1 Wolves (Salah 84)

You did it! Harsh but effective. And Salah draws level with Son on 23 league goals.

GATE! Leicester 3-1 Southampton (Perez 81)

Now this is going to be silly. All score except Liverpool. (And Man United. And Norwich.)

GATE!!! Villa Man City 3:2 (Gundogan 81)

One brings three! And that can be a good thing. A cross from Kevin de Bruyne, a tap-in from Ilkay Gündogan: this is the stuff of champions.

GATE! Leicester 2-1 Southampton (Ward-Prowse 79)

Saints get a goal back with a penalty kick.

GATE! Brentford 1-1 Leeds (Canos 78)

It’s squeak time for Leeds fans but they’re still a point clear of Burnley.

GATE! City 2-2 Villa (Rodri 78)

And another! Will City make an Everton?

GATE! Leicester 2-0 Southampton (Vardy 74)

He always scores on the last day.

GATE!! City 1-2 Villa (Gundogan 76)

A header for Gundogan, a glimmer for City! They’re still top at the moment but won’t be if Liverpool score.

GATE! Burnley 1-2 Newcastle (Cornet 69)

A glimmer for Burnley as Cornet scores on the second try after a save from Dubravka.

GATE! Norwich 0-5 Spurs (son 75)

Son takes the lead!

GATE! Norwich 0-4 Spurs (son 70)

As soon as Salah misses, Son scores and they are now level in the race for the Golden Boot – both with 22 goals.

Jürgen Klopp rolls the dice again. Keita out, Firmino in – so Virgil van Dijk stays on the bench.

Meanwhile, Mo Salah has just shot through at Anfield and hasn’t scored. He took a second too long and allowed Willy Boly to pull off a fine tackle.

One goal is enough for Liverpool now.

GATE!!! Villa City 0-2 (Coutinho 69)

You couldn’t invent it!
