The network TelevisaUnivision reported that the twentieth anniversary of the Premios Juventud (PJ), held in Puerto Rico’s Coliseum, broke a record for television viewership, according to the Nielsen agency.
A total of 4.4 million people tuned in to the three-hour ceremony led by Dayanara Torres, Alejandra Espinoza, Ángela Aguilar and Marcus Ornellas last Thursday.

The awards ceremony, held for the second time on Isla del Encanto, resulted in Univision positioning itself as the most-watched channel in the United States, surpassing broadcasters such as ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox, according to the broadcaster.
For the second time in a row, it was the most-watched program among adults between the ages of 18 and 49.
It was also a trending topic on social networks and achieved just over 5.5 million interactions between Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram.
The ceremony was filled with historic moments, including the reunion of Toño Rosario and Los Hermanos Rosario, Samo’s return to Camila and CNCO’s farewell.
Shakira, the night’s top winner, took home eight awards, including Artista Premios Juventud Femenina, Best Song For My Ex, Girl Power, Best Urban Track, Best Pop/Urban Song, and Best Pop/Urban Collaboration.
