With the theme “Bonhomme’s Laboratory,” carnival-goers are encouraged to play and explore Quebec’s winter, particularly with the Ateliers de l’Orchestre de glace.

The castle is divided into several large experience rooms that stimulate the senses. They will also lead to a huge backyard where the dome will dominate, allowing for large musical evenings to be held.

Meanwhile, preparations are in full swing on the train, where media representatives were invited to a site visit on Thursday morning.

A total of almost 2800 blocks of ice are used. Each block weighs 300 pounds…

It will take about 14 days to build the famous palace.

The different parts of the Bonhomme Ice Palace are held together with water which, when it freezes, cements the different blocks together. The dome can accommodate 2,000 people at a time. The heated stage ensures the comfort of the performers.
