President Vietnam points to major contradictions in the global economy

The Vietnamese leader shared his country’s policy of maintaining economic growth with progress, social justice and environmental protection, as well as ensuring that all people promote their potential, participate and enjoy the achievements of development.

To this end, he explained, Vietnam is pursuing three sets of solutions: building an independent and self-sufficient economy linked to proactive and deep international integration, and considering internal forces as a fundamental, strategic and decisive factor and external forces as an important element.

In addition, the focus is on strengthening the management and effective use of natural resources, protecting the environment and responding to climate change, and promoting the green transition to meet global commitments.

In this sense, Van Thuong noted that his country prioritizes investment projects in the areas of science and technology, innovation and the so-called green, digital, circular and knowledge economy, as well as in electronic components, renewable energy, the development of financial centers, biotechnology and health.

On the other hand, in his speech at the political exchange meeting of the Council on Foreign Relations of the United States, the Vietnamese President acknowledged that relations with the northern country have never reached such a high level of development as today.

According to the VNA news agency, Van Thuong appreciated this as a result of joint efforts to overcome the challenges and historical ups and downs of many generations of leaders and people of both countries.

Vietnam’s foreign policy is characterized by independence, self-determination, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, diversification and multilateralization of its relations, he stressed, adding that bilateral relations are about putting aside the past, overcoming differences and promoting commonalities recognize and look to the future.
